Back to Basics
My Life as a computer geek started a long time ago, when computers only talked to each other via foot-net or if you were in a Goverment Facility. Even then, text based games were very cool, and not too common.
I cut my first Linux hacking teeth on a MUD. I had played several up to that point in 1997, but none had satiated my need for Roleplaying and design. Besides, being a programmer from the old, I felt the need to see the guts of the mud.
Well from time to time, I like to revisit the MUD scene to see what new and improved aspects to the MUD genre have occured. I recently looked at Aardwolf mud They have a large player base, a nice interface for display, and a great tier system, so essentially, you never stop leveling.
The only thing I think that would improve the system, from an owners perspective, is In game advertising. IT wouldn’t need to be anything spammy, but would help generate some residual income for the server itself.
As I wander around the areas and set my fledgling new character off on automated quests, I can see that there is many opportunities for Google Ad system to be implemented into the game base.

Due to concerns about click fraud, 'Google AdSense' has been criticized by some search engine optimization firms as a large source of what Google calls "invalid clicks",642-426 in which one company clicks on a rival's search engine advertisements to drive up the other company's costs. To help prevent click fraud,642-586 AdSense publishers can choose from a number of click-tracking programs. These programs display detailed information about the visitors who click on the AdSense advertisements. Publishers can use this to determine whether or not they have been a victim of click fraud. There are a number of commercial tracking scripts available for purchase. The payment terms for webmasters have also been criticized.Google withholds payment until an account reaches US$100,350-018 but many micro content providers require a long time—years in some cases—to build up this much AdSense revenue. However, Google will pay all earned revenue greater than US$10 when an AdSense account is closed.
