Well, where does one go when they take a year long sabatical from programming and computers and the internet in general ?

They go crazy! Then they become sane, after a short while, and find other things to do.

It's been a crazy and sane past year for me.

I have been across the US Eastern seaboard, and MidEast states like Georgia, Alabama, Illinois, Tennessee, Arkansas, to name a few.

I moved to the Tampa bay Florida area with my new wife, Amber, and her daughter, Alexandria. My wife gave birth to a beautiful little girl, Lokalei Sakilla Chaplin, on 10-19-09. It was amazing! Just a side note about our daughters name. Lokalei is the name of Ambers main toon on WOW. I picked Sakilla, as it was also the name chosen for the Dolphin that represents MySQL. It's a south african name that means magical dolphin.

There have been times over the past year where I have forgotten about computers and the internet. I might have even forgotten about TV. I had spent about 6 months travelling with a carnival show acrossed Wisconsin mostly, and now down to Florida. It was an amazing experience. The people you meet and the life you live are ones to never forget. And yes, it's as bad as you might think, but there are some good points too. Like seeing a childs face smile big with anticipation of getting on their first ride ever.
